Man hospitalised after drive by shooting at a hospital in Waziristan
At least three people were injured in a drive-by shooting in which at least 10 bullets hit the hospital in Waziristan early on Thursday.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility but the suspect was arrested as part of a joint operation, police officials said.
Security officials have yet to formally identify any of the injured as civilians and did not have any descriptions of the assailant.
Officials in the area, where one hospital is closed and another closed due to the shooting, told The Associated Press that some patients and staff were injured after a drive-by while walking to their cars in an area where houses frequently house suspected terrorists.
One injured person was rushed to a nearby hospital while another one remained at Waziristan General Hospital after the shooting.
One man was critically injured in the gun attack while others were treated for minor injuries, officials said.
The suspected shooter was arrested and is believed to have shot into the vehicle parked in the hospital as it was entering its parking area, police official Sarga Haq said.

Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir speaks at the start of an interview with CNN.
“In our nation, for every day of our life, for every loss, for every loss of life we take, the greatest of things in the universe is that one person will not die for the sake of one person.
“One person is killed, and their family is touched by that loss. They lose a son, brother, sister, child, nephew.
“What I can say is this: there will never be an administration that did not stand up for human rights, justice and respect.”
The president also mentioned the persecution of the Kurdish community and said: “We won’t allow the killing of people of our faith,” to which CNN asked him if he meant Kurds.
“To put it simply, we won’t allow their oppression.
“We won’t allow the murder of the Islamic faith,” Bashir said, adding: “We won’t allow the persecution of Christians, Jews, Yazidis, Christians and any other faith that may exist.”
A CNN cameraman accompanied Bashir on his interview as he spoke about the plight of the hundreds of thousands of people living in dire conditions along the border with Turkey.
At the same time, Bashir expressed hope that more people would not die from the famine.
“There is hope, but it is in the minds of the people of this country. We must not allow this tragic situation,” Bashir said.
“A month ago I promised people that in the next days, our people will give an answer to that question.”
The president’s address came during a trip to Germany where he toured schools where students had learned Arabic and were learning about the suffering of refugees from war-torn Syria.
He told the students there was a need for more people to help them understand Islam and said more people should learn the Arabic language.
“In the United States there is an enormous amount of interest in learning the Arabic language,” he said.
However, he stopped short of saying that his visit to Germany would lead to a spike in refugees coming into the United States.
“The problem is very deep. We should start the discussions in Iraq and the region now,” he said. “We need to understand, what makes this situation more complicated for us in every field that we deal with.”
He called on all political leaders to stand up to the global Islamic extremist terrorist group, ISIS.
Bashir said: “ISIS kills people for the sake of being killed in their homes. I have never heard of a terrorist organization that is capable of killing people without getting the permission of the governmen
